At around 3:30 p.m. on March 7, a worried mother sought help from the police in Godech.
The woman reported that her 5-year-old daughter had been attacked by a dog, and the animal's owner had threatened her with a knife in his hand.
Law enforcement officers responded immediately and detained the man.
The injured child was transported to hospital with lacerations and contusions on the right thigh and after medical care – released for home treatment.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case in the Godech Regional State Police.
After the rapid completion of the investigation and a report on the collected evidence in the prosecutor's office, the 65-year-old acquaintance of the police was brought in as a defendant and his detention was extended to 72 hours.
