Political scientist Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov stated in the program "Denyat ON AIR" that the caretaker cabinet has been dealing with deep personnel changes for 3 weeks now.
In whose interest is the caretaker government working
"It is obvious that the government is actively participating in the election campaign. It is debatable to assess what the final effect will be, this may be a boomerang to the formations that are associated with this caretaker government. There is a significant outflow of support for the PP-DB", he commented.
Political scientist Kaloyan Metodiev agreed with Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov's position and added that "they are rewinding the spring at certain moments, they do not have experienced personnel".
"PP-DB absurdly became spokesmen for this government and will bear the negatives. There is a perfect storm for this to turn out to be a fuse that will blow and drag everyone who thinks that through it they will be able to win something in the elections", he commented for Bulgaria ON AIR.
Winning or losing is Radev's strategy
Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov pointed out that the sociological surveys show the same electoral picture. 30-32% is a serious result, these are 1 million voters, he pointed out, referring to Rumen Radev's formation.
In his words, the entire situation over the past year has largely worked in Radev's interest.
"As far as the tactic of hiding from the campaign is profitable, I think this is the wrong strategy. His goal is to capture voters from different segments. Whether there will be a wave will depend on the campaign and his personalities. His participation as the leader of the list may lead to greater mobilization. His non-participation may lead to erosion in this serious support formation," analyzes Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov.
According to him, it would not be possible for Radev to form a coalition with GERB: "The next day, half of his voters will withdraw their support."
"We will probably not hear any answers, obviously this is a targeted tactic aimed at avoiding potential mistakes. The bubble will burst after the elections, because responsibility must be taken after the government," said Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov.
Metodiev believes that Radev has made a series of mistakes.
"His first meeting with voters was with a GERB mayor, welcomed by the deputies and the entire GERB staff, and in his first interview he ruled out a coalition with GERB. We have a clear signal that a coalition between him and GERB is underway," he emphasized.
The political scientist also specified several marketing mistakes: "he did not speak to the Bulgarian media, he did not say a word about the planes in Sofia, he did not comment on the war in Iran, he did not comment on the prices, he did not say about the KSNS".
"You are a big absentee from the political process. He is not a party leader, put two of his colleagues there. This bubble will start to burst when more and more people start to see that the content is different from the packaging. He needs to come out and say what he will and will not do in Bulgarian politics. "Don't keep everyone in check with this virtual rating," Metodiev insisted.
He believes that the question is how the context of the last week will affect it - the first protests over high electricity bills have already been scheduled.
"Water is sharply up, oil will drag all prices in Bulgaria up, gas is 70% up since the beginning of the year. It is becoming key to have domestic food production. If a person like Radev hides and does not make statements, he will lose," Metodiev added.
