Undeclared 16,000 kg of vegetables were found in a truck traveling from Turkey to Ukraine by customs officers at the Lesovo checkpoint. The case dates back to March 1, 2026.

This was reported by the Customs Agency.

The driver - a Turkish citizen, presented documents that he was transporting 26 pallets of fruit - tangerines and pomegranates, in transit from Turkey to Ukraine via Bulgaria. After an operational analysis, a thorough customs inspection was carried out, during which the inspectors found in the cargo composition of a tractor and semi-trailer 6 pallets with declared fruits and 20 pallets with undeclared vegetables totaling 16,000 kg - tomatoes, peppers and zucchini, for which the driver did not present documents.

A notice of administrative violation under the Customs Act was drawn up against the driver of the truck. Administrative criminal proceedings were initiated, under which the violator paid the imposed fine in the amount of over 20,000 euros in public state receivables.
