The replacement of the acting prosecutor general is not related to Sarafov's compromised personality, but because of compliance with the country's Constitution. This was said by the co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group in the program "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" on BNT.
Nadezhda Yordanova - co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group: "This is not about one or another personality, although the compromised, unfortunately, personality of Sarafov is an independent issue. But the law has said very clearly - You temporarily perform the functions of prosecutor general or some president of the supreme courts, the Supreme Administrative Court or the Supreme Court of Cassation can only be for 6 months. Period."
Yordanova said that the problem with the expired mandate of the SJC is also extremely serious:
Nadezhda Yordanova - co-chair of the parliamentary group of the PP-DB: "The problem is the following, in the Bulgarian parliaments, several consecutive Bulgarian parliaments, fail in the ability to form a majority of 160 people, representatives of the people, to elect members of the SJC by the parliament, who must comply with the Constitution. Simple - to be professionals with high moral qualities and a backbone, not to have addictions. These are nice words in the Bulgarian constitution, in Bulgarian law. And this simple thing turns out to be very complicated for politicians to implement."
Yordanova commented on Rumen Radev's requests and the possibility of a partnership with his formation in the future parliament.
Nadezhda Yordanova - co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group: "I hear Rumen Radev's requests that they will take steps towards better justice in Bulgaria. I lack the specifics. On the one hand, I am optimistic - there is a request for a large parliamentary group in the next parliament to have the issues of justice and a better functioning judicial system in Bulgaria high on its agenda. On the other hand, I am skeptical about the specifics. Because the devil is in the details."
Yordanova also commented on the composition of the PP-DB party lists for the upcoming elections:
Nadezhda Yordanova - co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group: "I sincerely believe that we will go out on the field of elections with strong lists, with bright faces, with lists that give our potential, to fulfill our request for a strong Bulgaria in a strong Europe."
Regarding the "Petrohan-Okolchitsa" case and the ITN's accusations against the PP-DB, Yordanova emphasized that they do not ask real questions, but are a purely political attack.
Nadezhda Yordanova - co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group: "The activity of the ITN group is not related to clarifying the objective circumstances, but entirely political attacks. The "Petrohan-Okolchitsa" case must be in the focus of Bulgarian society and Bulgarian institutions constantly. This tragedy, this criminal case of unknown magnitude from recent years must be clarified to the end. All facts and circumstances must be established objectively, comprehensively, impartially."
