The Cabinet challenges the Parliament's decision on Trump's Peace Council in the Constitutional Court - 1

The government is expected to file an appeal with the Constitutional Court over the Parliament's decision to oblige the Council of Ministers to submit a draft Law on the ratification of the agreement on Bulgaria's accession to Donald Trump's Peace Council. The decision was made by the deputies on Friday.

Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov said that the Parliament cannot impute actions of the caretaker government, since the submission of such a proposal for ratification is entirely within the powers of the caretaker government. Therefore, he will refer the matter to the Constitutional Court.

Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky specified that the Cabinet supports the US President's comprehensive peace plan for Gaza, but shares the reservations of most EU countries regarding the legal status of the expanded version of the Council. The accession agreement of Bulgaria was signed by the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov.
