Today, the phased distribution of the second tranche of food packages for the most needy, who, according to various criteria, fall within the scope of the social assistance system, begins.
The assistance is provided under the European Food and Basic Material Assistance program. It will reach over 530 thousand people and their family members. The packages are distributed by the Bulgarian Red Cross at 317 points throughout the country. There are 11 types of essential food products: flour, rice, chutney, oil, canned food, and canned meat. One- and two-member families will receive one package, and those with three or more members will receive two packages. Acting Minister of Social Affairs Hasan Ademov will participate in the distribution of aid at one of the points in Sofia.
