Branimir Botev: Forecasts for the summer tourist season are not optimistic - 1

The forecasts for the summer tourist season in our country are not optimistic given the war in the Middle East. This opinion was expressed in the program “Crossroads“ by Prof. Branimir Botev, president of the Bulgarian section of the European League for Economic Cooperation.

“Our proximity to the conflicts negatively affects the image of our seaside resorts. There have already been cases where inspections for mines were carried out in the coastal areas in our country“, he also said.

We recall that every day due to the conflict in the Middle East, losses of nearly 600 million euros are reported. The balance is from the World Travel and Tourism Council. In our country, the industry is already calculating the effect of delayed reservations and an expected increase in the price of overnight stays by up to 20% due to inflation.

“In all cases, it is appropriate for people to monitor the situation and trends so that they can plan their summer vacations“, the professor commented.
