Iliana Yotova: The cabinet's first steps regarding the fairness of the elections are encouraging - 1

The cabinet's first steps regarding the fairness of the vote are encouraging, and the revealed vote-buying schemes speak for themselves. This was stated by President Iliana Yotova to journalists, quoted by Nova TV.
She expressed hope that all current topics affecting Bulgarian citizens will be part of the election campaign. She also added that the proposals and programs of the political formations are also expected. "The campaign will obviously not be built on the basis of conflicts, but on a clash of proposals and ideas", Yotova also said.
Regarding the impact of the war in the Middle East on the economy, Yotova believes that in addition to the 20 euro aid for fuel, there should be a whole package of measures related to rising prices and the fight against speculation.

The President also commented on the assessment of Bulgarian citizens for healthcare, provided through a survey by „Trend”. She indicated that the assessment in question is between 3 and 4, which reflects the state of the sector.

During the discussion organized by the BLS, „Priority: Health – from public attitudes to political decisions“, Yotova also said that healthcare is a topic that should unite Bulgarians and be a national ambition, BTA reports.

"There is a lot to be done for the status of the doctor – salary, access to modern technologies, career development opportunities", Yotova also pointed out. "If these conditions are in place, we cannot help but deal with the growing shortage of personnel. Issues that have been unresolved for years are now leading to Bulgaria's first place in Europe with 35% co-payment for medical services by the patient", the president also said. According to her, this is a topic on which urgent measures must be taken.

"Prevention is often a formality, and when it is missing, the most direct route is the emergency departments of hospitals. "There is a lack or poor access to healthcare in small settlements, and there are also no pharmacies in some of them," Iliyana Yotova also pointed out.
