The National Assembly lightly and with pleasant-sounding motives crossed out the possibility for Bulgaria to receive hundreds of millions of euros, which directly go into investments and ultimately lead to a better state of the energy sector, more efficiency in the chain and more affordable prices. This is what the acting Minister of Energy Traycho Traykov said today in connection with yesterday's decision of the parliament, by which the deputies forbade the Minister of Energy to carry out actions related to a change in the structure of companies included in the capital of "Bulgarian Energy Holding" (BEH), BTA reports. The restructuring of BEH is related to payments under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

I think that everyone should be extremely responsible in the place where they are placed in decision-making, said Traykov. He commented on the topic of the parliament's decision during a public meeting organized by Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva, regarding high electricity bills.

Regarding the complaints about the inflated electricity bills, Traykov said that the caretaker government has been dealing with the issue since the beginning of its mandate.

There are probably explanations for most of the individual cases, but let's hear them from the electricity distribution companies so that there is no doubt whether there are problems with the metering or something else, he said. According to him, this should also become clear from the specialized inspections that will be carried out, in particular by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.

This is the right path, because no customer should pay a penny more than what they have used and we must guarantee this, the acting energy minister insisted.

According to him, each individual case should be analyzed.

Traykov pointed out that, along with justified concerns, it turns out that many of the complaints filed actually have lower bills, which indicates a not entirely conscientious attitude.
