The first task for all of us is to free the state from the embrace of the oligarchy. The first step we must take is to restore statehood. From there, we must develop the state economically. This was stated by the former Minister of the Interior and candidate for MP from “Progressive Bulgaria” Ivan Demerdzhiev in the program “Panorama” on BNT.
There are serious social inequalities in Bulgaria and they must be overcome, but the way we see this is that only an economically stable and developed country can implement adequate social policies. We do not turn our backs on social policies – on the contrary, they are extremely important to us. Our approach is to achieve them through stabilization of the state and its economic development, successful fight against corruption, and this in turn will support the development of the economy, which will generate opportunities for social policies. We see them in many aspects, not only as social assistance - education, healthcare, jobs and social assistance, he explained.
I do not want our vision to be put into clichés. It is undeniable that there must be a social policy in a modern policy, but in order to have one, there must be provided funds, Demerdzhiev specified.
We must seek unity around important goals for the state, and not to have division by color. The goals that we have and we have are that there should be no people in Bulgaria living on the poverty line, but the means by which we see these goals being resolved are - tackling corruption and developing the country economically, said the former acting interior minister.
We are not looking for balancers, but partners with whom we can achieve sustainable governance of the country through common goals. I am not talking about a coalition, but about common goals, he specified.
