„Progressive Bulgaria” does not offer slogans, but clear measures for the development of the country. This was stated to journalists by the president (2017 - 2026) and leader of „Progressive Bulgaria“ Rumen Radev, who visited the old capital Veliko Tarnovo today and participated in the celebration of the city's holiday.

A primary place in the program of the „Progressive Bulgaria” is to free the country from the grip of the oligarchy, Radev recalled and noted that stopping theft and corruption is of key importance for economic development and for ensuring more revenue in the budget, which will allow for a strong social policy, quality education and healthcare.

“Our goal is not to give handouts to people in need, but to create conditions for them to be able to take care of themselves and this is the true role of the state“, he also emphasized.

Radev stated that the candidates for MPs from the list of “Progressive Bulgaria” will work for Veliko Tarnovo not only during the campaign and expects the coalition to achieve a very strong result in the 4th MIR. The list of “Progressive Bulgaria” in Veliko Tarnovo is made up of people with a very different profile – lawyers, engineers, doctors and other specialists in their fields, he also noted.

“Veliko Tarnovo has enormous potential, not only as a tourist center”, Rumen Radev said in response to a question and emphasized that the city should develop both as a university and as an industrial center, but air quality problems should be taken into account.

Asked about his expected results in the upcoming elections, Radev emphasized that he takes into account the sociological data, which certainly assign first place to “Progressive Bulgaria”, but does not rely on them, but on the strong program of the coalition.

“Our extremely strong program is aimed at the spiritual and material development of our country and its citizens. It is with this program and the work of our colleagues on the ground that I count on achieving success, so that after the elections we can quickly form a sustainable majority in parliament and an operationally working government, in order to not only solve the people's problems, but also to begin to develop our country at an accelerated pace," Rumen Radev also stated.
