We want Radev to say who the faces of corruption are and how we will fight it. We are ready to vote with him for new compositions of the Inspectorate and the Supreme Judicial Council. Such general strategic changes will also change the overall picture and will allow to unclog a system that is completely blocked. We must do everything possible to collect 160 votes, people cannot continue to stand when their mandate has expired. This was said by the co-chairman of the PP-DB PG and leader of the coalition lists in 1 MIR-Blagoevgrad and 23 MIR-Sofia Nikolay Denkov in the studio of “Zdravej, Bulgaria“ on “Nova TV”.
“We entered politics precisely because of the problems with corruption. That's exactly why we are different from everyone else. Kiril Petkov and Lena Borislavova have cases, Blagomir Kotsev spent several months in custody. This shows that throughout the years we have mainly fought against corruption and we are paying the price. In five years we have taken a number of actions with which we have backed up our claim to be fighters against corruption“, he added.
According to him, the only anti-corruption action by Rumen Radev is the appointment of Asen Vassilev and Kiril Petkov. “We have called for a vote on public tenders for medicines 8 times so that we can have lower prices. Have you heard the president say that this needs to be fixed? We want to hear whether Radev is ready to accept our proposal, which states that if Bulgaria is convicted by the ECHR, the magistrate who made a mistake should pay part (at least 50%) of the compensation, and not us from our taxes“, Denkov insisted.
According to him, there is a widespread feeling of impunity. He showed the so-called protocol for the liquidation of corruption - a printed edition of “We Continue the Change“, in which specific party priorities are recorded - among them the steps that must be implemented in order for “Bulgaria to become another country“. “One of our proposals states that we should receive SMS if a payment is made on our behalf to the Health Insurance Fund. Regarding business, taxes should not be raised, but the VAT threshold should be raised“, commented the PP-DB MP.
Nikolay Denkov noted that majorities in the new parliament are possible if there is a common goal. “A change in the so-called “house book“ for the acting prime minister can be made with regard to regulators, where we obviously have a problem with political affiliations and competence. However, the deputies of the head of the Court of Accounts are proposed by the chairman and we cannot interfere there. We want to establish a different method of nomination through a public review, and not to replace our person with yours. There should be requirements for competence and morality“, he believes.
According to Denkov, the BSP leader is a possible partner for PP-DB: “Krum Zarkov has proven his principles, if he enters the National Assembly, it will be a possible option for discussing common priorities“.
