Due to the escalation of tension in the Middle East, the Bulgarian-Turkish border has been placed under increased surveillance by the services of both countries. A meeting between the Bulgarian and Turkish authorities is scheduled for Burgas today, aimed at improving control and limiting possible migrant pressure, Nova TV reports.
At the moment, there is no data on an increased number of attempts at illegal crossing, but preventive measures are nevertheless planned in connection with the ongoing military operations in the region.
Within the framework of the cooperation, the Turkish side will also provide specialized devices for recognizing false documents, in order to increase the efficiency of border checks.
