The opening of the motorcycle season in Sofia, which was supposed to take place today, has been postponed to May 2nd. The reason is the forecasts for expected rain and bad meteorological conditions.
"The weather conditions simply do not allow the event to take place. They say it will be too much rain, as well as snow in high places, and we prefer safety than having 20 people on motorcycles show up and cause some trouble. We are currently negotiating the new date.
It will be May 2nd, a little further away due to the upcoming Easter holidays, elections and other events that are in the capital, marathons and so on. "May 2-5, alive and well, we will gather at the designated points so that we can gather more people and make it more fun," Yanchev from the "Sofia Motorists" Association explained in the program "People, Roads, Cars" on Bulgarian National Radio.
