On instructions from the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Hasan Ademov, teams of the Social Assistance Agency (SAA) are on site in the village of Aprilovo, Popovo municipality, after the Cherni Lom River overflowed its banks in places due to the heavy rainfall in recent hours. At the moment, only yards are flooded and there is no information about injured people or the need for evacuation.
An organization for coordinated actions between the responsible institutions has been established on the ground, and a temporary headquarters is also functioning. Employees of the “Social Assistance“ – Popovo Directorate are monitoring the situation and are ready to react if necessary, as the river level remains high.
If the situation changes, the teams will provide support to the affected people, including if evacuation is necessary. They will conduct on-site visits, provide consultations and assist in the provision of social assistance in the event of disasters. The situation is being monitored continuously.
