NRA inspected 13,507 retail outlets for unjustified price increases - 1

Fiscal inspectors from the NRA have inspected 13,507 retail outlets, among which the largest number are grocery stores - over 3,200 and about 1,500 restaurants and catering establishments. The purpose of the control actions is to establish whether there is an unjustified increase in the prices of goods.

For the violations found, the NRA inspectors have so far issued more than 1,000 acts and nearly 400 penalty orders worth a total of almost 960,000 euros.

The presence of unjustified price increases was established in 10% of the inspected grocery stores, for which 332 acts of violation were drawn up and in 15% of the inspected catering establishments, restaurants and drinking establishments, which was objectified in 194 acts of violation.

During the control actions, it was also established that over 700 of the traders issued a receipt that did not meet the regulatory requirements, namely that it should indicate the total amount of the purchase in euros and leva, as well as the BNB's fixed exchange rate of the leva against the euro.

From the beginning of April, the National Revenue Agency (NRA) will once again begin massive inspections in grocery stores for compliance with the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria, and fiscal inspectors will also check the price of traditional food products for Easter - eggs, kozunak, lamb, etc. The teams will require documents on the origin of the goods, data related to suppliers, delivery and sales prices, delivered and sold quantities, dates of deliveries, turnover, costs, and more.
