A small child, about 3 years old, hung from a railing on a balcony on the eighth floor in Yambol. The report was filed at around 1:30 p.m. by eyewitnesses in the “Golden Horn“ complex. A police team was sent immediately and the boy was rescued, Nova TV reports.
The child's parents were not found in the apartment. Only a younger girl was with him. The law enforcement agencies had to break down the front door, since no one opened it for them. Thus, they reached the terrace of the apartment and managed to pull the little boy over the metal railing.
Later, employees from the “Child Protection“ department at the Yambol Social Welfare Department arrived on the scene. The parents have been identified, and work with them continues.
In connection with an incident with two children at risk, immediate action was taken by the Social Assistance Agency, the MLSP announced later today. Social workers from the “Child Protection“ department at the “Social Assistance“ Directorate – Yambol, immediately responded to the address. Emergency services were called to the scene and the children were examined.
In order to ensure their safety, the children were removed from their family environment and are currently being urgently placed in foster care.
A Coordination Mechanism for Children at Risk has been convened for tomorrow, April 2nd, to take further measures.
