The Ministry of Justice has received the report on the travels of Emilia Rusinova and Petyo Evroto - 1

The documents on the trips abroad of Sofia City Prosecutor Emilia Rusinova in the car, and in some cases in the company of former investigator Petyo Petrov, known as Evroto, have been received by the Ministry of Justice. Andrey Yankulov's team is familiarizing themselves with them and will then assess whether he will make a proposal for disciplinary punishment, Nova TV reported.

Earlier today, the acting Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov stated that he expects the Ministry of Interior to send the report related to the trips abroad of Sofia City Prosecutor Emilia Rusinova in the company of Petyo Petrov, known as Evroto, today. The aim is to assess whether there are grounds for initiating disciplinary proceedings.

According to Yankulov, the Ministry of Interior assured him that the document would be sent in the morning, but a technical problem had occurred in the systems. However, the minister expressed an expectation of receiving the report by the end of the day.

He also commented on his proposal for a disciplinary investigation against Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. The minister pointed out that according to what he heard from the representative of the Prosecutor's College Evgeni Ivanov, the issue should first be considered by the disciplinary commission, and then submitted for a decision to the Prosecutor's College of the Supreme Judicial Council. The minister did not undertake to predict when exactly this would happen. However, he stressed that his proposal explicitly stated that the case was urgent and, in his opinion, the procedure should be developed in a short time. “There is an element of urgency in the whole thing and this should be done in a very short time“, he said.

The minister specified that the data on which his proposal against Sarafov is based were not collected by him personally, but represent publicly known information from the last six months. “My proposal is based entirely on public information that is widely known“, he emphasized.

When asked whether it was possible for the procedure to be blocked at the disciplinary commission level, without reaching the Prosecutor's Office, the minister said that he did not want to predict the actions of the personnel authority.

He explained that the Law on the Judiciary provides for deadlines for imposing disciplinary sanctions. They depend both on the moment when the possible violation became publicly known and on the date of the act itself. “There are statutes of limitations and they must be complied with. That is why I insisted on urgent action“, said the minister.

According to him, for some of the publicly known facts, the six-month period within which disciplinary proceedings can be requested has already expired. Therefore, he believes that there are grounds for the issue to be considered at the next meeting of the Prosecutor's College.

The representative of the Supreme Judicial Council, Boyan Magdalinchev, also made a comment. “We are talking about actions that undermine the prestige of the judiciary. It is always related to the position and position held. In this situation, it will already be decided whether to submit requests for disciplinary proceedings or not - this is a completely different issue“, he said.
