The agreement that the caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov signed with Ukraine is good for Bulgaria. This was stated on the air of “Na fokus” the co-chairman of the PP-DB Assen Vassilev.
According to him, it dates back to the time of Dimitar Glavchev and has been languishing in the offices of the Council of Ministers for more than a year. “The agreement must be submitted for ratification to the parliament and it will decide whether it will become a valid contract or not. Should the caretaker cabinet have signed it at this point? In my opinion, no! I don't think we would have gained or lost anything if it had been signed in 2-3 weeks, when there is a parliament. I think it should be signed, but I don't think the most appropriate moment was chosen”, said Vassilev.
“The agreement says that we have the right to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war. This is good – our industry has put in a bid to participate in the reconstruction. If there are financial commitments, they must be approved by parliament”, explained Vassilev.
Another important thing, according to him, is that “the government has done its job as a government, without considering the political parties or how it will affect the campaign, which is the oath they took”.
Asked if Rumen Radev is Bulgaria's European choice, Vassilev said: “No, and this is clearly shown. Peace for Rumen Radev means Ukraine's capitulation. "The capitulation of Ukraine means the war will reach the borders of the EU."
He also commented on the scandal with Dimitar Stoyanov in Simeonovgrad. "I had announced that I would be there. I was walking calmly down the street, we were talking to citizens, Mr. Stoyanov had stopped in front of our office, I went to say to him: "Good afternoon," and he started sharply with the attacks," said Vassilev.
"The things we are discussing are real. This is about something extremely serious. Last year, the entire Bulgarian people took to the squares with one task: to bring down the government, to go to new elections, to put an end to Borisov and Peevski once and for all. This task is extremely responsible and we must treat it with the same responsibility," said Vassilev.
He also explained how, in his opinion, this model can be liquidated. “This happens when 121, in some cases 160 people in parliament press the button. It doesn't happen with general talk, it doesn't happen with slogans, it doesn't happen with posts on Facebook. It happens when the moment comes, for example, when electing a new Supreme Judicial Council, to say: does everyone who enters this Supreme Judicial Council as a representative from parliament take responsibility for the removal of people who are connected to notaries and midgets from the judiciary or not?”, said Vassilev.
According to him, this is about “the survival of Bulgaria and the well-being of the Bulgarian people”.
”Radev enters the political battle, declares that he will fight the oligarchy, with Borisov and Peevski. When he was president, what prevented him from coming out and saying: “The young doctors are right”? What prevented him from making a statement to the nation and saying that Sarafov cannot arrest innocent people and keep them in custody?”, asked Vassilev.
„It is important for me to take the fight to the end, we will cross all borders. If anyone wants to join this fight, they are welcome”, he said.
Vassilev also explained the dispute with Dimitar Stoyanov regarding people on the lists of „Progressive Bulgaria”, with affiliation to the former State Security. „ I said that there are people on their lists. The list that I made is for the initiative committee and has been confirmed. It will be confirmed for the lists this week. Out of 189 people on the initiative committee for Rumen Radev, there are 25 people who are connected to State Security”, said Vassilev and gave an example with several names.
