Tomislav Donchev: We must work with Ukraine, the agreement does not bother me - 1

The Deputy Chairman of GERB Tomislav Donchev is the leader of the list in the 23rd MIR Sofia and the 7th MIR Gabrovo.

„The dispute regarding a progressive tax scale or a flat tax has become political and philosophical, and it has clear economic dimensions. First, it is not true that a person with higher income pays the same as a person with lower income“, said Donchev in “120 minutes“.

„There are several other important issues here. There is still a gray economy in Bulgaria. When you have thresholds from which the tax scale becomes much steeper, if such a model is introduced, you will see how there will be a new support under thresholds. There is no guarantee that a progressive scale will bring more revenue to the treasury. The opposite is true. Another argument - this will certainly lead to additional "graying out" of the economy, Tomislav Donchev pointed out.

“The important thing is for the National Assembly to fulfill its function and this cannot happen only with the votes of the ruling party. The opposition must also be involved, which means that it must propose their representatives,“ Tomislav Donchev believes.

“But since politics has been turned into a war of all against all over the past five years, this agreement cannot be found. God forbid, in the next National Assembly we will remember what the people are sending us there for,“ he added.

Donchev stated that GERB will work with political forces that are inclined to support the implementation of the party's program and the pursuit of their priorities.

When asked what GERB's attitude is to the note that Iran sent to the Bulgarian government, he replied that it should be approached with restraint and coolness.

“I would not incite hysteria on the topic“, said Tomislav Donchev.

Regarding the 10-year agreement with Ukraine, he stated that he has no concerns about it.

“Bulgaria should work with Ukraine, especially for the production of drones. Funds were set aside - 30 million. A procedure is currently underway to select Bulgarian companies to develop drones and supply the Bulgarian armed forces so that they can gain more experience. This is important“, he believes.
