The discussion of a package of measures for transport carriers continues due to the increase in fuel prices. A new meeting between the industry and representatives of four ministries is scheduled for today. The talks will be held at the Ministry of Transport.
At the initiative of the Minister of Transport Korman Ismailov, the government is expected to allocate an additional subsidy for bus lines, which are currently outside the scope of support under the Road Transport Act. An increase in funds for compensating for student transport is also planned.
The proposed measures for the industry also include a doubling of state aid for the heavy goods sector - from 25 to 50 million euros. It is also proposed to postpone by several months the increase in the eco-component in toll fees for vehicles over 3.5 tons and buses.
The introduction of guarantee mechanisms for the deferral of leasing payments of carriers is also being discussed in order to reduce the financial pressure on companies in the sector. Urgent measures are also being developed to reduce the administrative burden and shorten the terms for the services of the “Automobile Administration“ Agency. This will facilitate the work of transport companies and will lead to additional savings.
