What is Radev actually saying about Karbovski?
That Bulgaria must return to energy dependence on Russia. To the same Russia that turned gas into a geopolitical weapon and unleashed war in Europe.
This is not realism, but a change of facts.
This was warned about on "Facebook" by the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev.
Europe did not give up on Russian energy for ideological reasons, as he suggests. It gave up because this dependence has become a severe economic, political and strategic vulnerability.
The call to restart relations with Russia and to lift sanctions, without seeking responsibility, does not reduce the risk. On the contrary. It sends a signal that such behavior can be repeated without consequences.
That is why the debate we are calling for is so necessary. That is why it is so persistently avoided. So that instead of arguments, we hear arguments against the common European response to Russian aggression and against the need for Europe to be stronger, more independent and less dependent.
We are for a strong Bulgaria in a strong Europe. Not for a Bulgaria dependent on Russia in a weakened Europe. There is no future in such a "vision".
