"Roadside Assistance" launches national protest - 1

The Association of Owners of Specialized Roadside Assistance in Bulgaria is organizing a national protest, in which over 300 specialized vehicles from the sector are expected to participate.

The protest by representatives of the "Roadside Assistance" sector was organized in response to the refusal of the acting Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Naydenov to hold a real meeting with the sector. Despite the publicly stated readiness for dialogue, in the last 10 days, including April 6, meetings have been held with representatives of the sector, to which the largest industry association was purposefully not invited – the organization with the largest capacity of equipment and employees in the country.

In this regard, the Association is organizing a national protest on 09.04.2026 at 08:00, in which over 300 specialized vehicles from the sector are expected to participate.

According to the Association, such an approach creates serious risks – both to limit free roadside assistance for citizens and to restore long-standing corrupt practices and unfair actions in the sector.

As early as March 31, 2026, the Association sent an official letter to Minister Naydenov requesting an urgent meeting, but no response has been received to date.

The industry representatives insist on open and constructive dialogue, transparency in the decision-making process and equal participation of all stakeholders on issues affecting both the sector and road safety.
