I hope that the truce between the US and Iran will be respected, calm the international markets, free the passage through the Strait of Hormuz, which will also lead to calming prices. This was stated by Prime Minister Andrei Gyurov at the meeting of the Headquarters for Coordination of Monitoring and Control of Prices of Goods and Fuels as a Result of the Conflict.

He highlighted the immediate impact of the truce on international oil prices - a drop to 94-95 dollars per barrel.

There is a lot of talk about galloping prices and crises, which according to preliminary data are not confirmed. This does not mean that there is no tension building up in the system, the task of the caretaker government is to remove this tension before it is transferred to the end consumer, the prime minister emphasized.

The government will analyze the prices of goods from the small consumer basket on a weekly basis in order to avoid speculation. At the moment, the increase is limited and there are no drastic price increases, it became clear from a report by the Consumer Protection Commission.

For 40% of the 101 groups of goods and services monitored, there was an increase in prices in March compared to February, and for 60%, prices fell, explained the acting prime minister. Chairman of the Consumers' Association Alexander Kolyachev added that the change in fuel prices did not affect the goods and retail chains that the Consumers' Association monitors.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Hristanov expects a decrease in prices this and next week and that the stores themselves will refute the suggestions that prices are rising.

In 48 out of 800 gas stations inspected by the National Revenue Agency, there was an increase in the margin for all three types of fuel, in 88 there was an increase in the margin only for gasoline and diesel. More documents are expected, based on which it will be clear in May whether some gas stations will be sanctioned under the Euro Adoption Act for unjustified price increases, said the executive director of the National Revenue Agency, Milena Krastanova.

The headquarters continues with an analysis of the measures already taken, which are not helicopter money, but targeted assistance for the most vulnerable groups of citizens and sectors, said Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov.
