Over 44,000 farmers have already received 76.5 million euros (76,463,242 euros) in their accounts under the intervention “Basic Income Support for Sustainability“ (BIS) for Campaign 2025. The payment was made ahead of schedule – before the deadlines set in the indicative schedule. The acceleration of payments is the result of targeted actions to stabilize the sector at a critical moment.

“We made a conscious decision to withdraw payments earlier. For farmers, these are not just numbers – these are funds for seeds, fertilizers and wages. Liquidity today means security tomorrow and it is important that we can find solutions expeditiously in order to adequately support the sector“, said the Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Hristanov.

The team's priority was not simply to meet the schedule, but to meet the real needs of agricultural producers. “The administration should not catch up with the problems, but to anticipate them. That is why we accelerated the processes and showed that when there is a will, the state can work in the rhythm of business and be of help, not harm“, emphasized Hristanov.

The final rate under the OPDU for Campaign 2025 is 102.32 euros per hectare. In accordance with European rules, a 1.5% contribution to the Mutual Fund was deducted from the amounts. With this additional payment, the total funds paid under the intervention reach 379.2 million euros, after the first tranche of over 302 million euros transferred at the end of last year.

In parallel, the State Fund “Agriculture“ has already made other key payments under Campaign 2025, with efforts aimed at distributing the entire resource as quickly as possible.

“We will continue at a high pace. Our goal is clear - for the funds to reach farmers on time, when they need them most, and to restore trust in the institution as an active partner“, Ivan Hristanov also stated.

It is expected that the remaining funds for direct payments will be paid within the next few months, which will bring the total financial resource for the sector to exceed 500 million euros in direct aid for the sector.
