An organization has been created in all structures of the Ministry of Interior to ensure peaceful holidays, a specialized operation of the "Traffic Police" at the General Directorate of National Police is part of the measures taken for the normal course of the upcoming Easter holidays. The General Directorate of the "National Police" has launched a large-scale specialized police operation using the "wide-ranging control" method, the General Directorate of National Police informed on its Facebook page. The control will be carried out on the territory of the Kyustendil district - the "Struma" highway, in the area of 53 km, today (April 10) until noon in the direction of Blagoevgrad and on Monday (April 13) in the afternoon in the direction of Sofia. The specialized operation of “Traffic police“ at the General Directorate of Traffic Safety is carried out jointly with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Kyustendil using the “wide-ranging control“ method. Seat belts, helmets and child seats, documents - driver's license, car registration, “Civil Liability” insurance, technical inspection, passenger documents will be checked. A check will be made for the presence of undelivered electronic tickets and penalty orders under the Road Traffic Act and/or the Insurance Code.

If violations are found, drivers (and passengers) will be diverted for additional inspection, including the delivery of fines on the spot, the possibility of paying obligations via a POS terminal on the spot, checking for the use of alcohol or narcotic substances or their analogues, carrying out additional inspections at the discretion of the control authorities. Measures will be taken on site to prevent driving by unlicensed drivers or those who have consumed alcohol or drugs.

If necessary, the teams on site will also apply linear control to drivers with aggressive behavior or performing risky and incorrect maneuvers that endanger other road users, inform the GDNP.

For the upcoming Easter holidays, intense traffic is expected and therefore the teams of the “Traffic Police“ will be on the roads in reinforced formation, warns the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition to uniformed officers, unbranded cars will also participate in road control, which will monitor for violations and report to the police teams. All available automated technical means for speed control will be actively used, and special attention will be paid to checking drivers for alcohol and drug use.

The movement of heavy goods vehicles will be restricted at certain hours.

In parallel, actions have been taken to ensure order during the festive events by the teams of the “Security police“. Meetings have been held with organizers, local authorities and church representatives to ensure the normal conduct of services and events related to the holiday. There will be an increased presence around churches during service hours. Officers will monitor suspicious behavior, abandoned objects and unusually parked cars, relying on increased attention from citizens. Attention has also been paid to security during organized trips for children, and talks have been held with representatives of schools, group leaders and tour operators.

The teams of the General Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection“ are also on standby. Over 1,500 preventive inspections have been carried out in church buildings and over 350 places of accommodation. No serious violations have been identified, and instructions have been given for their elimination in the event of deficiencies. On-duty teams and equipment have been provided in places with an expected concentration of people. people.
