Municipal councilor Carlos Contrera presented data on how the DB is actually negotiating with GERB in Sofia Municipality.

Ivo Mirchev from „Yes, Bulgaria“ is constantly trumpeting: „We are the ones who can put an end to the „Borisov – Peevski“ model. At the same time, in Sofia Municipality, Ivo Mirchev's people from „Yes, Bulgaria“ are negotiating with GERB and, with the support of GERB, have pushed a scheme with exotic buses. The story is worth telling, because you will know them by their deeds.
According to Carlos Contrera, in words DB, Ivo Mirchev, “Yes, Bulgaria“ are fighting GERB and the “Borisov model“, and at the same time, with GERB's votes in the SOS, they are pushing their schemes.
The capital program of the Sofia Municipality includes the purchase of 42 used twenty-meter diesel (note) buses at a price of 159,000 euros each. The buses are ten years old and must come from Vienna. That is, the match is regular, without procedure, without a competitive start - some specific parameters are set to ensure that exactly these buses will be delivered and paid for. What is this called? The proposal comes from the Deputy Mayor for Transport - Viktor Chaushev (DB). So the DB was screaming its last against 18-meter buses on the same kilometers, but for 90,000 euros per unit. It was expensive. And 159,000 euros per unit is no longer expensive. The difference - the 42 buses in question were contracted directly by the DB without a public procurement. Their buses are good and democratic, the others through an open procedure are bad and corrupt.
How did the twist happen - the DB agreed with GERB to support this proposal and it passed in the municipal council hall on 12.03.2026. Even under the amendments is the signature of Boyko Dimitrov - – “Yes, Bulgaria“, along with the signatures of GERB and “Save Sofia“. They are fighting hard for the “GERB model“.

Do you know how PP-DB and “Save Sofia“ voted when I proposed that this scheme with 42 diesel buses be dropped? They voted against it together with GERB. I proposed to impose a mileage limit - up to 500,000 km for each bus, to at least guarantee that they would not be the oldest ones. Then the star of the other luminary from “Yes, Bulgaria“ rose - Simeon Stavrev, who made a counter-proposal without a word of motivation. When the vote was taken, do you know how PP-DB and “Save Sofia“ voted? They voted against, against setting a limit of "up to 500,000 km." One wonders why? Well, because the buses that are about to be delivered to us for 159,000 euros per unit have 600-700,000 km. So Sofia will have to pay a total of 6,700,000 euros for used diesel buses with over 500,000 km. For reference - a brand new gas 12-meter bus costs about 250,000 euros per unit. And we will take 10-year-old diesel buses for 159,000 euros per unit. These buses are 20-meter long, with four axles, there are no lifts for them in the garages and it is not clear which lines they will eventually be able to run on. No, it is not a scam, not at all. It is a donation.
All traces in this operation lead to the State Security Service. The proposal is from Deputy Mayor Chaushev (DB), the change in the decision is signed by Boyko Dimitrov (DB). So, have the good forces overcome the mafia and corruption?
