In the first of the series of weekends, increased traffic is expected on the roads in the country. Over 700 police teams will monitor road safety in the coming days.
A specialized police operation will be held on the "Struma" highway. The checks will be directed mainly against drivers who have used alcohol and drugs, BNT reports.
From 9:00 to 14:00, the movement of heavy goods vehicles on the highways will be limited. In order to ease traffic towards Greece, a two-lane reverse traffic has been introduced at the "Simitli" junction in the direction of Kulata and Bansko, and left turns are prohibited at the traffic light in Kresna for those traveling towards Greece.
