Patriarch Daniel on Good Friday: Let us not judge God, but seek our salvation - 1

On Good Friday, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniel delivered a strong spiritual message from the capital's church “Holy Sunday“. In his speech, he drew attention to the meaning of suffering and the human tendency to judge instead of seeking faith and repentance.

"On this day, humanity symbolically pronounces judgment on God, condemning the righteous judge to death," the patriarch said, Nova TV reports. He recalled the evangelical events in which the Sanhedrin and the Roman authorities passed a verdict against Christ, accusing him of blasphemy for calling himself equal to God.

According to him, even in the Old Testament it is clearly proclaimed that the Messiah is both God and man - a descendant of King David, but also a "mighty God" with eternal origin. It is this divine and human nature of Christ that lies at the foundation of the salvation that He brings to the world. "Let us not be like Judas - for earthly thoughts to betray Christ," Patriarch Daniel urged. He encouraged believers to leave behind vain worries and look to that which leads to spiritual salvation and true faith.

“Good Friday is a time for humility, reflection and a return to the essence of the Christian faith - the sacrifice and love through which comes the hope of salvation”, the Bulgarian patriarch also said.
