The Bulgarian Tourist Union is producing thirteen new signs, which we will replace as soon as possible, the commandant of the National Tourist Hike along the Botev Trail “Kozloduy – Okolchitsa” Evgeni Filipov told BTA. According to him, members of the “Ledenika” tourist association, of which he is chairman, will also participate in the renovation.
The signboards and signs will be updated, and the resting places will also be renovated, added Filipov. The historian and curator in the “History of Bulgaria 15th - 19th century“ department of the Regional History Museum – Vratsa Neli Stoyanova added that the texts with historical facts used for the signs were reviewed by her. She said that there are two signs on the Kozloduy coast, five in the Vratsa Balkan, two on Mateev Geran. One of those on Mateev Geran tells about Botev Alley, when the first hikers passed by, Stoyanova added.
A tour of the route with representatives from the regional administration and the hike leadership is expected in the coming days, regional governor Stefan Krasimirov told BTA.
Registration for the 78th edition of the national hike is until May 8 for groups, and until May 15 - for individual hikers. The road from Kozloduy to Okolchitsa is 120 kilometers.
