A heavy-duty vehicle went off the road and overturned in the Republic Pass (Hainboaz) near the village of Vaglevtsi. The incident occurred on Friday at noon, causing serious traffic difficulties on one of the main roads in the country. Police teams were immediately sent to the scene to regulate traffic.
According to initial information, the truck driver is a Turkish citizen. Immediately after the accident, he was transported and admitted to a medical facility for examination. His alcohol test came back positive, sources from the investigation confirmed.
The footage of the overturned heavy machine was first published in the Facebook group "I see you Traffic Police Veliko Tarnovo region", where it caused an instant wave of dissatisfaction among other road users. People expressed their outrage at the irresponsible behavior on the road.
"In prison, immediately", wrote a user on the social network.
Another eyewitness shared in the comments under the photos: "If we were a normal civilized country - prison and without a license, as in normal countries. But since we are Bulgaria, nothing will work".
"Traffic Police" teams remain at the station to assist the other cars in passing. It is recommended that travelers through the Republic Passage drive with caution and at a reasonable speed until the crashed truck is fully towed away.
