Violations of the conditions in the complex permit of “Bobov Dol TPP“ AD were established by the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water-Sofia (RIEW) during surprise inspections on April 15 and 16. This was announced by the environmental inspection.
The inspections were carried out both outside the production site and on the territory of the plant, and several points in the area were visited for the purpose of visual control for the presence of organized and unorganized emissions, dariknews.bg specified.
The inspections identified unorganized emissions from the boiler room building, gas ducts and other sections of the production site, as well as organized emissions from the installation's exhaust devices.
During the inspections, it was found that part of the waste gases formed during the operation of the energy boilers do not pass entirely along the specified technological path through the intended purification facilities, including the desulfurization installation, but are released as unorganized emissions through compromised sections of the gas ducts. This constitutes a violation of the conditions set out in the company's current comprehensive permit.
An administrative penalty procedure has been initiated for the established violation, and a penalty decree will be issued within the statutory period.
The TPP „Bobov Dol“ must pay fines of 270,000 leva due to air pollution
The Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and Water Resources will continue its enhanced control over the activities of „TPP Bobov Dol“ AD in order to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and prevent atmospheric air pollution in the area.
At the beginning of April, the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and Water Resources initiated a new penalty procedure against the TPP „Bobov Dol“ for air pollution again after an unscheduled inspection.
