Mihail Mikov: The lethal state of the BSP is a fact - 1

This is categorically the most serious loss of the BSP. In the last 10 years, targeted attempts have been made to destroy the left. Ninova started in 2017 with over 700 thousand voters, now there are under 100 thousand. Structures have collapsed, resignations have been submitted.. Bulgarian voters, willy-nilly, decided not to have left-wing representation in parliament or perhaps they do not currently recognize the BSP as a left-wing party at the moment.

This was stated in the program "Denyat na Zievo" on NOVA NEWS by the former chairman of the BSP Mihail Mikov, who commented on the election results.

"The lethal state of the BSP is a fact. Some very sharp moves need to be made. Still, I think it's too early to talk about the death of the party. The BSP will fall into a difficult financial situation. For me, they should have run independently in the elections, because now there will be no state subsidy due to running as a coalition. We will still have to look for left-wing representation. There are several options," he added.

"Without belittling Rumen Radev's victory, I want to say that voter turnout did not reach 50%. We still have to see how the election platform of "Progressive Bulgaria" will become a governing program. The first test for the new winners will be the presidential elections. Then come local elections. The mafia will not give up and will continue to operate through its media. There are also a number of problems that need to be solved - energy, healthcare, not to mention them all. I think that in "Progressive Bulgaria" there are well-prepared people, including from the BSP, let's see how they will cope. For me, the PB's election program is right-wing, especially in finance and tax policy. We cannot label Rumen Radev as a social democrat," concluded Mihail Mikov.
