Due to a crash between a car and a heavy truck, traffic on the Republic Pass is temporarily suspended, the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Veliko Tarnovo announced.
The traffic accident occurred around 2:00 p.m. just below the summit.
According to initial information, a car moving in the direction of Gurkovo and overtaking a convoy of cars was hit by another car moving in front of it in the convoy, as a result of which it hit an oncoming truck.
A passenger in the car was injured. The passage through the Republic Pass has been temporarily suspended, with cars being redirected through the "Shipka" Pass, and freight vehicles waiting in place.
