Analysts: Radev's problem will be his alternative - 1

The election results outline a big change. I hope the majority will be stable for at least a year or two. The very activity of the people has changed. We are all seeing. This was stated by political scientist Prof. Maria Pirgova in the program “From the Day“ on BNT.

It will be very difficult, because the status quo is deeply rooted. Rumen Radev is full of will to show himself, as a person who fights the status quo. This will be a big battle. The result depends on everyone, not just the winners, she added.

We are no longer few, we must look for partners and make compromises. Now it is clear. Most likely, we will have a government next week, said journalist Silvia Velikova.

When you are in power, you are the status quo. Radev's problem will be his alternative. When there is no alternative in a democracy, we have a problem. Critical thinking is very important, said political scientist Rosen Stoyanov.

Pirgova did not agree that the status quo is identified with those who come to power. “New people and new ways of governing will be required everywhere. There is no time, but it must be done. There are many questions, but it is governed with power, with the power of the law“, emphasized Prof. Pirgova.

Everything that several parliaments have failed to do must be done. Until the prosecutor's office is cleaned up, there is no way this government can be peaceful, Velikova believes.

Radev needs prepared people. Most likely, those who have experience will enter the executive branch. The judiciary is independent and there is no way to force things to change. We must be very careful about the actions of the authorities, Stoyanov emphasized.

There are almost no people in our country who are prepared for power. It is very important who will lead these people and who will train them. We cannot do much. Things very often happen by chance and dynamically, said Prof. Pirgova.

There are no perfect people. We are vicious, imperfect, unable to be ideal. In this sense, certain rules must be followed in order for us to be in the civil contract. Radev will need tough measures that are imposed at the beginning of the mandate. We have no time to waste, we cannot learn yet, said Rosen Stoyanov.

The parties are to blame for Radev's success, the journalist summarized.

We have been through a lot in recent years. Responsibility and work must be sought, emphasized Prof. Pirgova.

According to Stoyanov, Radev faces many difficulties. “He will have to act proactively, courageously and responsibly“.
