Slavi Vassilev: Rumen Radev will be our nomination for Prime Minister - 1

This will be the first successful government in over 20 years that Bulgaria will have. First, because of the figure of the Prime Minister. I assure you that Rumen Radev is much more prepared than Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was when he came.

This was stated to BNT by Slavi Vassilev, elected MP from "Progressive Bulgaria" and leader of the list in Silistra.

"From Boyko Borisov, who in 2009, when he came, demonstrated a certain inability to encompass all the processes in the state beyond material interest. Bulgaria will have a competent Prime Minister who knows all the files well, all the pressing problems and a team that will settle in the Council of Ministers, which will follow this competence and this expertise. Good times are ahead," he added.

"Becoming an MP is a logical continuation of my efforts to support Rumen Radev. I did it out of conviction, because I know that he is a person who could change many things in Bulgaria. And we are about to see them. I thank the president for his vote of confidence in me. I thank the people of Silistra who gave me their vote, we achieved a record result there. Now a period is ahead in which we roll up our sleeves and start working," said Vassilev.

"A parliamentary day is ahead, in which I suspect very quickly that the Progressive Bulgaria Party will make a decision regarding the chairman of the group, the chairman of the National Assembly, and whether to accept the old rules of procedure to continue to operate, in order to give ourselves one month to create new rules of procedure for the National Assembly. And this will be an active parliamentary day, in which the institution will have to work very quickly. And then follows the procedure for handing over the mandates. As far as I know, this will happen next week. I do not think that we will delay the mandate", said Slavi Vassilev.

He refused to answer whether the cabinet is ready.

"Knowing the president, he has put in a lot of effort, we have all put in a lot of work to get here, we have no reason to delay, whatever it was. Although the Bulgarian people gave us the opportunity to quickly form a cabinet, so that a Bulgarian government can finally work very quickly", Vassilev pointed out.

"Knowing Rumen Radev, I suspect that I will be more useful in the National Assembly", this is how he answered a question about whether he would be a minister. It was not agreed that he would head a ministry.

"The best thing about what the Bulgarians did on April 19 is that they personified the responsibility. Rumen Radev bears it. He is the person who symbolizes the desire for change, the strength and the fist that must hit the table. Ours is absolutely a leadership party", said Vassilev.

"I understood the other day that in February the "State Consolidation Company" and the entire profit of the military factories - VMZ - Sopot, Avionams and others, in the amount of 120 million euros, went to "Montazhi". And there a man, a procurator of Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski, instantly this money surfaced, flowed out. "Montazhi" is this enterprise that deals with dams. I am giving this example to show people that first of all we know very well what is happening. Second - we know what to do from now on so that such thefts do not happen. And so that Bulgaria can set off on a new path", he stated.

"We are ready to share power. I had talks with Radev about the committees in the National Assembly, for example. And there is a certain attitude there to think about how to show that there is a possibility of sharing this power. Of course, if the opposition behaves constructively. For the mandate for judicial reform, talks with other political formations are required. I hasten to say that GERB and "New Beginning" are not there, Vassilev pointed out.
