The traffic for trucks on the way from Bulgaria to Turkey through the border checkpoints "Kapitan Andreevo" and "Lesovo" is extremely intense, the General Directorate of the "Border Police" reports. The data on the concentration of heavy trucks is current as of 6:00 this morning.
The situation on our northern border with Romania remains calm, with traffic operating normally through all checkpoints. The only exception is the "Danube Bridge" border checkpoint near Ruse, where crossing is difficult due to ongoing construction and installation work.
"At the Ruse - Giurgiu border crossing, repair work is being carried out in the Bulgarian section of the bridge facility. Traffic is being regulated," the Ministry of the Interior specified.
The field report shows that the actual repair is currently underway in the last 320 meters of the facility in the lane towards Romania, which requires vehicles to be allowed to pass in stages in only one lane.
Traffic towards our southern neighbor is of standard intensity. Through the border crossings "Rudozem", "Zlatograd", "Makaza" and "Ivaylovgrad" only cars and minibuses weighing up to 3.5 tons are allowed to pass.
Heavy trucks and buses pass through the "Kulata", "Ilinden" and "Kapitan Petko Voivoda" checkpoints without any problems.
Traffic at all border checkpoints with the Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia is normal and without queues of waiting cars.
