The Sofia City Court will hold an injunction hearing in the case against the former leader of “We continue the change“ Kiril Petkov and the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Bozhidar Bozhanov. The two are accused of attempting to coerce the former Minister of Electronic Governance in the "Denkov" cabinet, Alexander Yolovski.
This is the second attempt to start the trial, after in December last year the chairman of the court panel, Emil Dechev, withdrew before the case even began. His dismissal came after a request from the prosecutor's office on the grounds that Dechev was a deputy minister in Kiril Petkov's cabinet and thus might not be impartial during the trial.
In early October, the prosecutor's office filed the indictment against Petkov and Bozanov with the court. Kiril Petkov is accused of coercion against former minister Alexander Yolovski, and Bozanov - of a crime in office related to a public procurement.
