I don't think we observed euphoria, I didn't see much joy from the resignation of Borislav Sarafov from the post of acting prosecutor general. The fact is that Sarafov should have resigned much earlier. This was stated by the acting Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov to Nova TV.
According to him, Borislav Sarafov should not have waited for the reformatting of the political space with the strongman of the day.
Andrey Yankulov also stated that the topic of Sarafov should be closed on the grounds that its continued commenting on whether the problems of the judiciary should be solved by violence is highly problematic.
"There is an attempt at political positioning, because if this is a manifestation of will about how events will develop in the future, then this should seriously worry us in the future," warned the Minister of Justice.
According to him, the majority in the new National Assembly does not want to introduce into the new Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) simply "button pushers".
"If the will is now for things to happen in a different way, this must be demonstrated through the procedures, which the new election of the Supreme Judicial Council will be chosen. If the will is to do things the way they have been done so far, whatever procedures are signed, they will never be fulfilled with real content," the Minister of Justice also pointed out.
