Artificial intelligence will transform the labor market, but it will not replace people, but it will make them more efficient. This was stated by the CEO of Sirma Group Tsvetan Aleksiev on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria”. According to studies, 30% of the hours worked in Europe will be automated. The goal is to free up time used for routine tasks and direct it to more creative work.
According to the specialist, the most serious changes are already being felt in the IT sector. He warned that AI will not eliminate the profession of programmer, but will affect novice staff. „The danger is for junior programmers, because artificial intelligence writes better than them. Better education is needed,” explained Alexiev.
With his decisive victory in the elections, “Progressive Bulgaria” announced its intention to implement artificial intelligence in the verification of public procurement. Alexiev commented on these plans as follows: “Artificial intelligence can handle such a task, but there must always be a person who makes the final decision“.
“We have very well-prepared personnel, but the level of digital literacy is low - about 38% according to Eurostat“,” Alexiev pointed out and added that a targeted training policy is needed. As a next step, he outlined the development of the so-called “corporate artificial intelligence“ - platforms that know everything about the organization and support employees.
