The deceased in the serious accident on the international road E-79 near Botevgrad are from Montana, revealed the BulNews agency.

According to unofficial information, the victims are men. They are between 30 and 40 years old and live in the Roma neighborhood of Boychinovtsi. Their relatives say that the deceased were traveling to a site in Sofia, where they worked.
Initial data from the investigation reveal horrific details of the tragedy.
Shortly after 7 a.m., the “Volkswagen“ minivan suddenly swerved to the left of its lane and crashed head-on into a “Scania“ truck with a Sofia registration. The collision was so strong that the engine went into the passenger compartment of the car. Another car that was traveling behind it hit the crushed-like can.
All five of the deceased were traveling in the minivan.
At this stage, the cause of the accident is still unclear. In the morning, temperatures in the area were around 4 degrees and it is likely that the car gave in to the wet road. However, it is also very likely that the driver fell asleep and that is how the brutal frontal impact with the truck occurred, since there is no braking distance.
The truck driver's tests for alcohol and drugs are negative.
The road continues to be closed due to procedural and investigative actions. There are investigators and prosecutors at the scene, who have taken over the clarification of the serious incident.
