The temporary budget committee in the National Assembly is expected to consider the two bills on price control, submitted yesterday by “Progressive Bulgaria“. The measures provide for changes in the Law on Protection of Competition and in the Law on Consumer Protection.
Introduction of a food traceability register, increasing the list of unfair practices, as instead of 13 the authorities propose to increase them to 33 – these include some of the amendments to the Law on Protection of Competition. The changes to the Law on Consumer Protection include:
extension of the Euro Law, which expires in early August, continuation of the requirement for traders to justify price increases, as well as a doubling of the fines imposed by the Consumer Protection Commission on traders.
