Former Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was awarded Japan’s Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for his contribution to the country, Kyodo reported.
The highest class of the order was awarded to a total of 99 foreign nationals, including 22 women, from 53 countries and regions.
The decorations will be presented on November 10 at the Imperial Palace in the Japanese capital Tokyo by Emperor Naruhito.
