Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will participate in the High-Level Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which will be held today and tomorrow in Rome, Italy, the government press service reported, quoted by BTA.
The forum, organized by Italy and Ukraine, is the main annual event dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian side and continues the series of high-level events dedicated to the reconstruction and reconstruction of Ukraine.
In recent years, similar conferences were held in Lugano in 2022, in London in 2023, and in Berlin in 2024. The main goal of the forum is to confirm continued international support, as well as future investments in the reconstruction and reforms in Ukraine. The conference in the Italian capital will bring together world political leaders, representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, representatives of the private sector, municipal and regional authorities, civil society and the Ukrainian diaspora.
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazyk will also participate via videoconference in a meeting of the countries of the so-called Coalition of the Willing. It is an initiative of the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer and the French President Emmanuel Macron. The discussion aims to confirm the efforts aimed at ensuring a lasting resolution to the war against Ukraine.
Yesterday, Pope Leo XIV received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a private audience at the papal residence in Castel Gandolfo. The meeting was dedicated to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the urgent need to achieve peace through negotiations, the news website “Vatican News“ reported. After the meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Pope and the Vatican for their support, especially on the issue of Ukrainian children taken to Russia during the war.
Zelensky is on a visit to Rome, where he will also meet with his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella and US envoy Keith Kellogg, Agence France-Presse reported, citing his office.
