Foreign direct investment in Greece would have amounted to less than EUR 2.5 billion in 2023 if not was the real estate market, which accounted for more than 45% of all capital investment in the year in question.
According to the Central Bank of Greece, the inflow of capital from abroad to the real estate market in the country in 2023 has reached EUR 1.64 billion, which is an increase of 28.7% on an annual basis.
This strongly contributed to FDI reaching EUR 4.48 billion in 2019. This figure represents a 40% drop compared to 2022, when the all-time high of EUR 7.53 billion was recorded .EUR.
