7 people have been charged after the operation of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, linked to the "Historical Park", NOVA learned from its sources. They have been detained for up to 72 hours by a prosecutor. On Saturday, the prosecution will request the permanent arrest of all 7 accused. A large-scale scheme for property fraud and money laundering is being investigated, linked to the leader of the "Velichy" party, Ivelin Mihaylov.
The accusation against them is that from the beginning of January 2013 to 26.11.2025, on the territory of the city of Sofia, the city of Varna, Shumen, Pazardzhik and the village of Neofit Rilski, they participated in an organized criminal group created for the purpose of committing crimes.
„I think 5 people were arrested. One is the accountant, the other is the lawyer. They have to do audits for the National Revenue Agency and all institutions. Now they won't be able to - all work on everything is blocked. They are inside the detention center, as well as an employee of a company that deals with art objects, and two completely outsiders who have nothing to do with us”, said Ivelin Mihaylov.
The prosecutor's office explained that various documents, mobile phones and laptops were seized during the investigative actions.
The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office explained that a pre-trial investigation into a criminal group has been initiated in the case. Yesterday's actions were after permission from the court.
The village of Neofit Rilski was surrounded by police and gendarmerie on Wednesday. There was the most police presence near Ivelin Mihaylov's house, but at the moment the police tape is no longer there.
The SGP explained that the operation is being conducted as part of an investigation into an organized criminal group related to corruption. The subject of the investigation are circumstances related to the "Historical Park" from 2013 to 2025.
At the request of the supervising prosecutor, the Sofia City Court has issued a total of 37 search and seizure permits. There were such in Varna, in the village of Neofit Rilski and in Sofia.
“Two people from KONPI told me that this would happen if I did not agree to vote with the ruling party. We did not accept and they told me that someone would come out and start making various accusations. Today they came in and took my wife's phone. My child is sick at home. They entered the house of a deputy without having the right to enter. Let them first remove their immunity, do it the way they should,” Ivelin Mihaylov told NOVA yesterday.
At this stage, there is no information that the acting prosecutor general has requested immunity for the leader of the “Velichye” party.
„There is an illegitimate prosecutor general. I will not give myself immunity, because no one in the country really wants it. Let the National Assembly vote on it,” Ivelin Mihaylov emphasized.
During the search, access was strictly prohibited, at first even the lawyer of the leader of “Velichye” was not allowed. Local people said that they had expected such an action.
“I explain it as a well-planned action that was announced. It was also announced by Ivelin Mihaylov. He had information, he was given a choice. Either he enters the ruling coalition with the "Velichy" party and takes the place of the ITN and is subject to the “Mafia” party, or arrests will follow,” said Kristina Kapitanova, who is one of the investors. According to her, this is political repression.
"For me, as a foreigner, what is happening is very ostentatious and very funny," commented Katerina Ivanova, another investor.
"I personally witnessed the invasion of the house when his wife was alone at home. It is very well known that he is in the National Assembly, there is a sick 4-year-old child in the house," she added.
There is no information whether Ivelin Mihaylov's wife was detained. Several of the houses of alleged associates of the leader of “Majesty” were also searched, but no one in the village was taken out or arrested.
