The State Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a man who stored and distributed pornographic materials with minors.
The following were found in the seized mobile device:
over 6,000 images
over 300 videos
During the checks, it was established that the detainee participated in groups for distributing files with child sexual exploitation, for the creation of which persons under the age of 18 were used, as well as that for nearly 2 years he has been a member of mobile applications popular among sexual abusers under someone else's identity.
The specialized police operation was carried out on April 16, 2026, under the supervision of of the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office.
Since the beginning of 2026,:
13 specialized operations have been carried out
12 persons have been detained
nearly 3,000 files with illegal content representing child sexual exploitation were downloaded
Among the identified perpetrators are:
a foreign citizen with permanent residence in the country
He, like the others, are mainly members of private groups in mobile applications, where admission is carried out by recommendation, as well as through special access codes for recognition and for declaring their specific interests.
a pediatrician
The files were distributed through an online application popular among teenagers through his personal account to a limited number of users.
