Cashier of "Bulgarian Posts" embezzled over 30,000 euros, announced the District Court-Kyustendil, quoted by dariknews.bg
By a verdict of the District Court of Kyustendil, the defendant R. M. was found guilty of committing a continuing crime in the period from July 1 to July 22, 2024 in Kyustendil.
According to the findings of the case, within this period she committed eight separate acts in a short time, in the same circumstances and with the same form of guilt. In her capacity as an official – cashier at a post office at the RPS - Kyustendil, she had an obligation to keep and manage other people's funds. Instead, she embezzled money owned by "Bulgarian Posts", in a total amount of 59,699.13 leva (30,523.68 euros).
The case was considered under the summary judicial investigation procedure, after the defendant admitted all the facts and circumstances specified in the indictment. The court took into account the presence of numerous mitigating circumstances and imposed a punishment of "probation". It includes mandatory registration at the current address for a period of one year and six months with signing twice a week, as well as mandatory periodic meetings with a probation officer for the same period.
The court panel, chaired by Judge Maya Milenkova, sentenced R. M. to repay to "Bulgarian Posts" the misappropriated amount of 30,523.68 euros (59,699.13 leva), together with the statutory interest, starting from July 22, 2024 until final payment. The claim was rejected for the difference up to the full claimed amount of 60,000 leva as unfounded.
The verdict can be appealed or protested within 15 days before the Kyustendil District Court.
