A printing house for counterfeit money has been discovered in Sofia. This was announced on his Facebook page by the acting chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Georgi Kandev. He also gave details about the operation:
The counterfeiters communicated with customers without direct contact and only through encrypted applications.
The deliveries were made using the "Crypto Drop" method - payment in cryptocurrency and receipt of the counterfeit banknotes at a specific location in Sofia.
The Directorate for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Counterfeiting carried out searches at 4 addresses and discovered a large quantity of counterfeit euro banknotes. Two people were detained. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
All the means for making the counterfeit euro banknotes were also found - ink, watermarks, sheets with a security thread, a guillotine for cutting, printers and a UV exposure machine.
