The case of the accident in which a car crashed into a bus in the capital is in the final stages.
The Sofia City Court is expected to announce the verdict of Viktor Iliev today, who in August last year caused the death of one person and injured four others.
This has come to this point after the ruling session in early April decided that the case against the 21-year-old defendant would be heard under the abbreviated procedure. In this way, witnesses and experts will not be questioned again. The fatal accident occurred at the end of August 2025.
The only passenger in the bus died when it hit the bus - 61-year-old doctor from Syria Isa Ali. The speed at which Iliev was traveling on the fatal night was 163 km per hour. Before the accident, he had also used "laughing gas".
